when the ship wants to carry more stuff , the water have to be cold . If the ship carrys less stuff , The water can be hot .

ReplyDeleteThank you Mr. G for sharing this video. Me and Advay had a great time watching the video and discussing about water density. The man in the video was standing in front of the titanic display. We all know that the tItanic sank after hitting an iceberg. I was wondering if we could apply the learnings from water density to understanding why titanic sank? Could you help me Advay and class 3B? - Advays mom.
ReplyDeleteThis was a great comment! We just learned first why the heavy Titanic floated in the first place. Most of the volume of this heavy ship was actually air. Air is less dense than water so that's why it floated. Now onto your question: why did it sink? When the water rushed in, the air was pushed out which made the ship denser than the water. So the result was the sinking of the Titanic to the ocean floor. This was a great concept to think about. Thanks for helping us to learn more! Is this what you were thinking the reason was?
