Fun with Science

Our brand new FOSS Science kits have arrived and we are deep into our investigations about WATER.  This new program is a welcomed addition to our curriculum as it has provided us with a more hands-on, inquiry based approach to teaching Science!

In our unit on Water, we have covered the following essential questions:

What happens when water lands on a surface? 
What is surface tension? We concluded that soap weakens surface tension.  Ask your children how we came to that conclusion.
What happens to water on a slope?
What happens to molecules when water is hot or cold? Ask them to tell you about the new vocabulary related to this concept:  CONTRACTS  and   EXPANDS.

I have seen the students very engaged with their experiments and excited to make predictions, test outcomes and make connections to what they observed to the real world.
